The family of a 22 year old woman and former military wife has just received justice. After a long trial, a jury has convicted three individuals with the horrendous attempted sexual assault and torturous killing of Brittany Killgore. The three were convicted of first-degree murder for their part in the sadistic sex ring.Shortly before her death, Brittany Killgore was married to a Marine currently on tour in Afghanistan. She had just filed for divorce and found herself caught up in the promising prospect of a luxurious dinner cruise she came across online. Unbeknownst to her, she was about to embark on a deadly journey into the hands of Louis Ray Perez, 49, Dorothy Maraglino, 40, and Jessica Lynn Lopez, 28.
The trio lured her out and subsequently kidnapped her. Her body would not be found until 4 days later around the Lake Skinner area.In a report published by CBS News, the family of Killgore made a statement after the verdict was read, with Killgore's mother stating: “Our daughter was a beautiful young woman, inside and out,” she continued saying, “And unfortunately she ran across people that were not good... were monsters and took her life. She is going to be missed for the rest of our lives.”
The victim's DNA was found in the Perez’s vehicle during the investigation in evidence, including a stun baton and what seemed to be a plastic material sheet.Jessica Lynn Lopez’s attorney made various statements in court insinuating that his client was nothing more than a victim to the BDSM pair Perez and Maraglino. In his address to the jury, Sloan Ostbye stated that Lopez was rather stupid, a gullible person forced to serve the pair sexually and take the fall for Killgore’s murder, which according to the attorney, she did not take part in.
To the pair, Lopez was referred to as “Money Bitch” and she was given the same treatment similar to that of a domestic dog.
