Q: We may list our home for sale this Fall due to a possible job transfer, so we have begun sprucing up our home in preparation of showings. Our powder room on the first floor leaves a lot to be desired. It has a basic sink with a builder-grade oval mirror above, nothing more. Both the room and our budget are too small to handle changing out the sink by the addition of a sink/cabinet combo. Any suggestions of what we can do to give it some style?
A: Powder room styles have evolved and design character is now added by replacing traditional bathroom-grade mirrors with those traditionally used in other rooms of a home.
Do you have a mirror from another room that could be relocated? Or check out stores or estate sales for stylish pieces that make a statement. This photo may prompt some ideas. Make sure the new mirror is securely hung, add a few other unique items, fresh towels and your bland powder room will transform into a show-stopper.
