Miramonte Winery was founded in 2001 by then 32-year old entrepreneur, Cane Vanderhoof. Since then, the winery has emerged as one of the most respected and heavily awarded wineries of the southern California . In 2005, a few close friends, all avid wine collectors and enthusiasts, joined the winery ownership. The group’s natural synergy, and its passion for premium wines have kept Miramonte at the forefront of Temecula Valley winemaking. “It’s because we’re a bunch of wine geeks,” says Vanderhoof.
“We chose Temecula over the North and Central coasts,” says Vanderhoof, “Because we believe it’s where Napa was 30 years ago. And a few of us are working hard to consistently produce wines which are clearly redefining southern California winemaking. The transformation is taking place this instant, right before our eyes. We’re very excited to be one of the wineries leading the effort.
” Our Vineyards & Winery Our goal is to craft the finest wines possible. Located in the heart of the Valley, the winery and estate vineyard sit at an elevation of 1400 feet, and our remaining vineyards are located between 1400 and 1600 feet. We own, co-manage or otherwise buy the fruit from a total of about 44 acres of some of the finest vineyards in the area. We tend to focus on Rhone grape varieties, but we also continually look for interesting expressions of other varieties. To plant and manage our vineyards, we work closely with Southern California ’s premier vineyard manager, Ben Drake. We work very hard to produce wines of depth, character and sophistication, and our house style focuses on intensity, individuality, regional distinction and elegance of expression. Our
In 2001, Miramonte created Flamenco Fridays, Temecula's Original Afters Hours Wine Tasting. Eventually we added Saturday Blues Jam, and then Laugh Jam at Miramonte. Today, our after hours wine tastings have emerged as signature events for Temecula. We invite you to join us on any Friday or Saturday night for a truly great vino-cultural experience of incredible music or comedy, great food, and world class wine.
