Scott Mann, the current Mayor of Menifee, is up for reelection as his two year term comes to a close and is up against Neil Winter. Here is the background of both candidates, and make sure to vote in November!

Scott Mann: Mann is the Chairman of the Riverside County Republican Party, and was also a U.S Navy veteran. This is Scott’s 2nd term as mayor, he was elected Mayor back in December of 2012, and became the first elected Mayor of Menifee. Before his first term as Mayor, Mann was elected as a board member into the Menifee Union School District in 2011 and served as a member of the Menifee City Council back in 2008. Scott Mann’s experience and background is very impressive, and he’s definitely a worthy opponent.

Neil Winter: Winter is a retired business man and a long-time resident of Menifee who has worked closely with the members of the Menifee Chamber of Commerce. Winters was a Senior Manager in business of Software development and sales, and it’s exciting to see how his business savvy will translate onto the political arena.

The other two City Council seats up for election Nov. 8 are in District 3 and District 1. No one applied to challenge the incumbents in those districts, so Lesa Sobek in District 3 and Greg August in District 1 will run unopposed.

District 2 council member Matt Liesemeyer and District 4 council member John Denver each have two years remaining in their terms.

Menifee residents, make sure to cast your ballot in November and the Menifee Buzz will keep you updated with more information about the candidates, the state of the race, and all the other exciting news to come!
